Emotional Turmoil

Yukiomaru the arctic fox had suffered from persistent nightmares that were caused by an alien infection in his blood. The nightmares were noticed by his beloved friend, Jun Fa, and Yukiomaru didn't want to have the pine marten worry about him. In a desperate attempt to find answers to curing himself of the alien infection, and therefore the nightmares, Yukiomaru left in the middle of the night to set sail across the stars. The origin of the infection had been discovered to be ancient and had affected others before so Yukiomaru hoped that in the ancient archives would hold the key to his cure. Instead, his attempt to use new technology to travel at many multiples of the speed of light, Yukiomaru's ship ended up breaking down and crashing into an unknown object. 

When Yukiomaru came to, he escaped his ruined vessel to be met with armored and armed aliens that he did not recognize. After being taken into the massive colony, that he had apparently crashed into, Yukiomaru discovered that these aliens were very similar in appearance to him. The very similar aliens called Evocanis subjected the arctic fox through several tests and other security protocols before one alien in particular risked stepping into the same room as the little arctic fox. That Evocanis was Husky the husky, and he would soon have Yukiomaru placed under his, and his family's, care. 

Injured and exhausted because of the crash, Yukiomaru remained hesitant throughout meeting these new aliens. He left Jun so that he wouldn't make the pine marten worry about him, but how much would Jun worry when he discovers that Yukiomaru's ship has disappeared completely? It was Yukiomaru's first objective to set off an emergency beacon so that Jun would know that he is still alive, but the security protocols of the Evocanis aliens would not allow it. Yukiomaru grew impatient but did his best to not jeopardize the goodwill of these new aliens. After being invited into the home of Husky, which Yukiomaru knew it was to keep a close eye on him, the arctic fox's exhaustion drove him to lie down earlier than the others but when the others also lied down for the night, Yukiomaru's worry and restless mind would not allow him to sleep. 

Staring out the projected window at the stars, Yukiomaru contemplated what he had done with heavy regret. He did not know how worried Jun was, he did not know if Jun would do something desperate in an attempt to find him, and he did not think that his nightmares were worth the risk of losing Jun forever. Knowing that he was fully at fault, Yukiomaru wished that he had never left in the first place and to go back to spend the night with Jun instead. While he pondered over his thoughts, Yukiomaru hadn't realized that Husky had woken up. When the Evocannis noticed the arctic fox was in turmoil, Husky hugged him in an attempt to comfort him; but he hadn't expected for the Yukiomaru, the hesitant and determined arctic fox that had been so distant all this time, to cuddle up against Husky and to cry on his shoulder. 

Seeing the arctic fox have such emotional turmoil brought Husky to tears too while he did his best to condole him. Yukiomaru would eventually cry himself to sleep, but the sinking feeling that he had about Jun worrying about him would not go away until he finally makes contact with his home world again.
